Infant of Prague, Day 4

Infant Jesus Mouth
O Miraculous Infant Jesus, prostrate before Your sacred Image, we beseech You to cast a merciful look on our troubled hearts. Let Your tender heart so inclined to pity be softened by our prayers, and grant us that grace which we so ardently implore.
Take from us all affliction and despair, all trials and misfortunes with which we are laden. For Your sacred Infancy’s sake hear our prayers and send us consolation and aid, that we may praise You with the Father and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. Amen.

One adores the mouth of the Divine Infant in order to gain the love of one’s neighbor, including the love of an adversary.

What do I hear? What a miracle! You, a small Child, speak, speak through an image and ask men for compassion. YOu spoke clearly: “Have pity upon Me, and I will have mercy upon you.” As You once called to Your faithful servant Father Cyril, so are You still calling to us, sinners.

How strongly You urge love of one’s neighbor and one’s enemies. You taught this by a marvelous example when You were on the cross.
Place a lock on my lips and a door before my mouth to keep me from offending my neighbor or sadden him by my tongue. Help me to live fully in accordance with the most important law of Christians: neighborly love.
