Infant of Prague Novena, Day 2

O Miraculous Infant Jesus, prostrate before Your sacred Image, we beseech You to cast a merciful look on our troubled hearts. Let Your tender heart so inclined to pity be softened by our prayers, and grant us that grace which we so ardently implore.
Take from us all affliction and despair, all trials and misfortunes with which we are laden. For Your sacred Infancy’s sake hear our prayers and send us consolation and aid, that we may praise You with the Father and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. Amen.

One worships the royal appearance of the Divine Infant in order to gain mercy for all sins.

Holy Child of Prague, I humbly kneel before You and look with awe at Your Royal Majesty. You like to change Your appearance according to the condition of soul of those who pray to You. Sometimes You look severe and scornful but soon You look sweet and friendly. When there are sinners before You, Your sweet face seems to be saddened. They may know You better after they have repented their sins truly. Do You wish perhaps to point to our instability in performing good deeds and to our fickleness?

O dearest Infant Jesus! Remember that Your most gracious Image lay seven years in dust, forgotten in a dark room, and yet it did not lose its beauty. Cleanse the room of my soul from the dust and dirt of sin and bring back to it the original beauty that belonged to it at the time of Holy Baptism. Amen.

  1. RE; cath. cartoons…with the exception of abortions and gay marriages.. you need discernment about democrats and unions…you are inaccurately judging dems. and union people as to what and why they think the way they do….abortions and gay marriages are optional.

  2. 1. Abortion is the #1 atrocity of our day, and it should not be optional. It should be completely 100% banned. Thousands of babies are being murdered a day, and now Obama is forcing Catholics and Catholic institutions to *pay* for it, and you call that “optional”?
    2. Democrats are evil for other reasons, as well: contraception, no-fault divorce, feminism, the birth control mandate, opposing public funding of religious schools (which is required by Canon Law), etc.
    3. As for unions, this isn’t the 19th century anymore. History has proven that papal teaching regarding employee stock sharing has proven far more effective for workers’ rights in companies that participate
4 . What does this have to do with a pre-Christmas novena to the Infant of Prague, except that liberal Catholics oppose traditional devotions?
