Novena to Our Lady of Fatima

Most Holy Virgin,
who has deigned to come to Fatima
to reveal to the three little shepherds
the treasures of graces hidden in the recitation of the Rosary,
inspire our hearts with a sincere love of this devotion,
so that by meditating on the mysteries
of our redemption that are recalled in it,
we may gather the fruits
and obtain the conversion of sinners,
the conversion of Russia,
and this favor that I so earnestly seek,
that things will go well for me on Feb. 20,
which I ask of you in this novena,
for the greater glory of God,
for your own honor,
and for the good of all people.

Amen.

3 Our Father…
3 Hail Marys…
3 Glory Be…

Novena to Our Lady of Fatima

I have an event coming upon Feb. 20, which is the memorial of Bl. Jacinta and Francisco Marto, so the next Novena will be to Our Lady of Fatima:

Most Holy Virgin,
who has deigned to come to Fatima
to reveal to the three little shepherds
the treasures of graces hidden in the recitation of the Rosary,
inspire our hearts with a sincere love of this devotion,
so that by meditating on the mysteries
of our redemption that are recalled in it,
we may gather the fruits
and obtain the conversion of sinners,
the conversion of Russia,
and this favor that I so earnestly seek,
that things will go well for me on Feb. 20,
which I ask of you in this novena,
for the greater glory of God,
for your own honor,
and for the good of all people.

Amen.

While the false apparitions at Medjugorje have cast doubt on it, the Sun “danced” at Fatima. It happened. It was witnessed by tens of thousands of people. It was a rainy day. Before the final apparition, the people’s clothes and the ground were soaked. Afterwards, everything was bone dry. This was all photographed.

Sr. Lucia prophesied:
1. The end of World War I.
2. The election of Pius XI.
3. The Communist takeover of Russia and rise of Russia as a world power.
4. The beginning of another world war following a “strange light in the sky.” (See here)

Some argue that these predictions are hoaxes based upon the fact that they were not publicized until after the events they describe. However, Sr. Lucia was always clear that the “secrets” were meant for the authorities in the Church, to confirm *to them* that the apparitions were genuine.

The Church is always super-wary of “prophecies of the future,” and usually suppresses those aspects of alleged apparitions or locutions, even when the rest of the events are approved. The Fatima predictions were kept secret *until they came to pass*, and thus had been verified by the Pope.
