The New Age Movement

How “self help” and “empowerment” literature, as well as sales/business motivational literature, reflect New Age Ideology.

A referenced article on what the “New Age” means, with discussions of specific New Age practices that have crept into Catholic venues: “dialoguing” with dreams; “Biospiritual” focusing (using senses as an avenue to spiritual connection; contradicts all the Mystical Doctors); Reiki (belief in cosmic “energy”; “the Force,” basically); Eco-Spirituality (pantheism); worship of the Goddess Sophia; Reflexology (at best, a form of foot massage; but its claims at healing are scientifically unproven and therefore, by St. Augustine’s standard, qualify as witchcraft); using Sufi Muslim mystical practices; Centering Prayer/Transcendental Meditation; the Enneagram; belief in the “Cosmic Dancer”, etc.

Short history of Catholic teaching on Freemasonry, by a Mason

I haven’t posted on freemasonry in a while, so I looked up a quick article. It’s a pro-Mason article, trying to find in Vatican II a tacit approval of Freemasonry, but the Congregation for Doctrine of Faith clarified that in 1983: basically, it’s no longer a latae sententiae excommunication to belong to a Lodge, as such (to be an officer incurs Inderdict), but it is still a mortal sin.

Here’s a very early Catholic Answers piece on Freemasonry, from back when Catholic Answers was about apologetics.

AP: "Condom uproar latest problem for Pope"

How so?

"Diogenes" rightly traces it all back to Land of Lakes

The real scandal is not that Notre Dame invited Obama to speak; it’s that it’s taken faithful Catholics 40 years to finally mobilize against Notre Dame.

My letter to Fr. Jenkins

I went to www.notredamescandal.com and followed their link for e-mailing Fr. Jenkins. Here’s what I said:

Dear Fr. Jenkins,

I know you’re taking a lot of grief for inviting President Barack Obama to speak at Notre Dame’s commencement. I just wanted to say that I, for one, am glad you’ve done this.

After all, Cardinal O’Connor called for a boycott of Notre Dame 16 years ago, and few people listened. Now, lots of Catholics are seeing that Notre Dame cares more about football than it does about Catholicism. Archbishop Sheen said something similar decades ago.

After all, you employ the heretic Richard McBrien. You refuse to implement _Ex Corde Ecclesiae_. You have facilitating the mocking of Our Blessed Lady with terms like “Hail Mary Pass” and “Immaculate Reception.”

President Barack Obama is, firstly, a Protestant. His speeches reflect the ideology of the “New Age Movement” and Marxist historicism. He has the glowing endorsements of all the leaders of the Satanic New Age Movement. He and his wife very blatantly practice artificial contraception. He supports legalization of both artificial contraceptoin and abortion.

He is a perfect complement to the heresies taught at your university.
I just ask you to stop commiting fraud by advertising your school as “Catholic.”
