Nevermind the question of what exactly constitutes a "vegetative state" . . .

But a new study suggests that 40% of people are “misdiagnosed” with persistant vegetative state. It cites work by researchers who are using new scanning techniques to find brain function in “PVS” patients, as well as “success stories” of people who have recovered after such a diagnosis.

Huh. Go figure. Poor Terri.
